BOBBY BOERMANS - DIRECTOR / PRODUCER

After graduating the Dutch Film & Television Academy he continued his study at the prestigious American Film Institute Conservatory in Hollywood. After graduating there he directed tons of music videos, commercials & online campaigns for brands such as Heineken, Adidas, KLM & Seat. 

In 2011 he made his feature film debut with the first online feature film in the Netherlands titled: CLAUSTROFOBIA. His second theatrical feature the thriller APP entered the marketplace in 2012 as the first feature film in the world using 2nd-screen technology for use inside the cinema, starring golden calf winner Hannah Hoekstra.

In 2012 he then co-founded movie production company 2CFILM (Street of Hearts, Jack’s Wish, Hello Bungalow, Oh Baby) together with former Sony Pictures Television President Kees Abrahams, former Endemol Theatre C.E.O Robin de Levita & Producer Edvard van ‘t Wout. Where he serves as a producer and development executive on the management. 

In 2013 he directed the TV drama ROFFA for broadcaster VARA (Nominated for Grand Prix D’europe 2014). And then went on to direct the pilot and the following four seasons of the popular thriller drama series THE NEIGHBORS for RTL Entertainment based on the famous Dutch novel of popular novelist Saskia Noort. The show was sold to British Channel 4 and became the first Dutch original drama series on AMAZON PRIME.

In 2015 he directed his third feature film, the party comedy FISSA (Wasted). In 2017 he turned to theatre and directed the stage musical SKY. The first 3D musical spectacle in the Netherlands, based on famous songs of Dutch mega-popstar Marco Borsato & Lyricist John Ewbank. 

In 2018 he directed the hugely popular crime series MOCRO MAFFIA for streamer VIDEOLAND. The show was sold to 23 countries and earned a golden calf for BEST DUTCH TV DRAMA in 2021.

In 2019 he teamed up with the ROYAL DUTCH AIRFORCE & STORYTELLERS FILM to direct the epic drama series HIGH FLYERS for broadcaster NPO. A coming of age series centered around a group of F16 FIGHTER PILOTS. For all the complicated fighter jet scenes he worked closely with the Dutch Military and shot on location in The Netherlands, Arizona, Texas, Morocco & Jordan.

In 2022 he directed the intense thriller series THE GOLDEN HOUR for NL Film/Banijay. Centered around a large scale terrorist attack. The six-part series became a huge succes. In 2023 he directed the war movie INVASION for DFW & NETFLIX, in cooperation with the Royal Dutch Navy.

He’s a board member of DAFF (Dutch Academy for Film) SHORTCUTZ and a member of EFA (European Film Academy)
